Caucasus University traces its origins to 1998 with the establishment of the Caucasus School of Business. The university's guiding principle, "Studium Pretium Libertatis," translates to "Knowledge is the Foundation of Freedom."

CU prides itself on offering a high standard of education, international programs, and practice-oriented teaching. The institution's highly qualified specialists are trained by internationally accredited lecturers.

Caucasus University is composed of various schools, including Business, Law, Media, Technology, Architecture and Design, Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences, Tourism, Medicine and Healthcare Management, Economics, and Education. The university has the authority to confer academic degrees such as Bachelor, Master, Doctor, and Medical Doctor in accordance with Georgian legislation. Additionally, CU boasts a training center offering various certification programs.

The Caucasus University Undergraduate Program in Tourism has earned the prestigious World Tourism Organization’s TEDQUAL Certificate, marking it as the first in Georgia and among the first in the region to achieve this distinction.

In 2007, Caucasus University joined the AACSB, and in 2018, it commenced the accreditation process. The Caucasus School of Business has successfully navigated several significant stages and is preparing for the final phase of accreditation.

The English-language architecture program at Caucasus University has been designated as a candidate for membership in the renowned Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). This recognition provides students with the unique opportunity to receive top-tier education in a highly sought-after field and earn a diploma recognized internationally.

Since its inception, Caucasus University has fostered partnerships with universities worldwide, now totaling 265 partner institutions in 68 countries. This extensive network facilitates the exchange of students and lecturers, dual degree programs, and various international collaborations. Students benefit from opportunities to participate in exchange programs, travel abroad, and engage with peers from different countries.

An impressive 98% of CU graduates and 80% of current students secure employment in the private and public sectors, as well as in international companies and organizations in Georgia and beyond.

The CU Campus is one of the largest higher education institutions in Georgia, featuring modern infrastructure and equipment. The historic building, constructed in 1909, originally housed an Armenian seminary from 1911 to 1924. The university has undertaken extensive renovations to preserve the historic monument, restoring all possible elements of the former seminary.

Since 2010, Caucasus University has been offering educational programs in Tourism, Law, and Economics in Batumi. The construction of a new CU campus in Batumi is underway, featuring modern infrastructure, a library, laboratories, sports fields, and a swimming pool. A student dormitory will also be built. The Batumi campus will offer undergraduate and graduate programs, including two new majors: Caucasus Maritime School and Culinary Academy. Additionally, there will be a training center at the university.
